The Linda Lear Center for Special Collections and Archives serves Connecticut College’s students, staff, and faculty as well as catering to outside researchers, community members, and other educational institutions. The space includes the reading room and the Palmer Memorial room. The reading room has three tables for quiet or collaborative research and can accommodate up to fourteen researchers. The Palmer Memorial room is equipped with seminar table, and drop-down projector and screen, allowing it to function as either a traditional reading room, collaborative work space, or multimedia classroom. 

The Lear Center is located on the second floor of the Shain Library on the Connecticut College campus and is open to the public, Monday - Friday. If you’re interested in planning a research visit, please refer to the Research page and become familiar with our reading room policies.

Connecticut College is located at 270 Mohegan Avenue, New London, CT 06320.  Please see Directions to the College for more extensive traveling information to Connecticut College as well as detailed campus maps. Visitors are encouraged to check with the gatehouse attendant on best places to park.
