Ethan Brown ’94 and his company Beyond Meat have been in the news a lot recently.

In a major expansion of Beyond’s transformative impact in the plant-based food space, the company has announced new agreements with McDonald’s and Yum Brands, which owns Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut.

The new partnerships will build on previous collaborations that brought the company’s meat-alternative products to a broad market and allow the restaurant chains to explore adding new plant-based pork, chicken, beef and egg products to menus.

Brown, the founder and CEO of Beyond Meat, is a celebrated entrepreneur and passionate environmentalist who has been a central figure in the astronomical growth of plant-based meat alternatives since 2009, when the company was founded. In May, he will deliver the keynote address at Connecticut College’s 103rd Commencement ceremony.
