Justin Finkel ’25 has been named New England Small College Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year after winning three individual races at the 2023 NESCAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships at Wesleyan University this past weekend.

Finkel led the Camels to a fifth-place team finish with wins in the 200 free, where he set a school record with a time of 1:37.26; the 500 free, where he set school and meet records with a time of 4:25.90; and the 200 fly, where he set school, meet and pool records with a time of 1:45.31, which meets the NCAA “A” standard to automatically qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship event. He also earned All-NESCAC honors as a member of the 800 free relay team, which finished third.

Finkel is the second Camel to be named NESCAC Swimmer of the Year and the third to win three individual conference titles in a season. That feat was last accomplished by Sam Gill ’14 in 2014.

The NCAA Division III Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships will be held March 15-18 in Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
