  • Murray NESCAC Player of the Year

Men’s Basketball’s David Murray ’24 named NESCAC Player of the Year

David Murray ’24 is closing out his collegiate basketball career on a high note: He’s the first Camel to be named New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Year.

An economics major from Queens, New York, Murray led the Men’s Basketball team and was top five in the NESCAC in scoring (17.7 ppg), rebounding (8.9 rpg), and blocks (2.2 bpg) while shooting 58% from the floor. He helped the team secure a No. 3 seed in the NESCAC Tournament and finish the season with an impressive 18-7 overall record.

“It’s great to see David get this recognition for all of the hard work he’s poured into his career,” said Head Coach Tim Sweeney. “He truly led us in so many ways this season, and we can’t wait to see what he takes on next.”

Earlier in the season, Murray joined Matt Vadas ’14 as the only other Camel Men’s Basketball player to be named NESCAC Player of the Week three times in his career. He also earned his second All-NESCAC honor with a spot on the First Team, becoming the first Camel since 2008 to garner First Team status and the first since 2001 to nab all-league honors in back-to-back seasons. Murray’s teammates Cam Shainfeld ’25 and Elias Espinosa ’26 garnered All-NESCAC Second Team honors.

Murray is one of two Camels to take top NESCAC honors this season; Men’s Swimming and Diving’s Justin Finkel ’25 was named NESCAC Swimmer of the Year in February.
