Friday - Sunday, Sunrise to Sunset, Self-Guided Tour of the Arboretum
The Arboretum was established in 1931 and is owned and operated by Connecticut College. This self-guided tour, which begins at the notice board just inside the Williams Street entrance of the Arboretum, is an introduction to the 25-acre collection of trees and shrubs native to eastern North America, and to some of southern New England’s common biological communities. The main trail is approximately two miles long and should take about one hour to complete at a leisurely pace.

First things first! Stop by the Lobby in Cro to check-in and pick up your name badge which gets you access to events, meal tickets, important information about the weekend’s festivities, and your room key if you are staying on campus.  All 50th reunion classmates can settle into their dorm rooms and spend time reconnecting in the hospitality suite. The Class of 1975 is invited to explore the natural beauty of the Connecticut College Arboretum with a private tour led by Maggie Redfern, Director of the Arboretum. Spanning 750 acres, the Arboretum is a living museum of diverse plant collections, scenic landscapes, and ecological habitats. Discover its rich history and environmental significance while reconnecting with classmates in this serene setting. Golf cart transportation is available if needed.

Alums celebrating or having celebrated their 50th Reunion are invited to the Sykes Society Luncheon for a meaningful conversation reflecting on a pivotal time in Connecticut College’s history. Join us for a panel discussion featuring members of the Class of 1975, who will share their experiences as first-year students during the College’s transition to co-education, with insights into student activism surrounding the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, and the African American experience. Audience participation will be encouraged to further enrich this shared reflection on the past.

Join MaryAnne Borelli, Susan Eckert Lynch '62 Professor of Government, for an in-depth analysis of the first 100 days following the 2024 Presidential and Congressional elections. This discussion will examine key policies, major successes, and challenges shaping the new administration and Congress. A brief Q&A will follow. Don’t miss this timely conversation! The College Archives is pleased to present the Alumni Oral History Program to capture and preserve the stories of alumni and their time at Connecticut College. We are looking for a few alums to volunteer during Reunion Weekend, either by conducting interviews, participating as interviewees, or both (generally about 20 minutes per interview). No previous experience is necessary - we will provide the audio equipment and training and some fun swag!
